CAKE INTERNATIONAL - Birmingham UK - OCTOBER 31st 2025
Join me at Cake International for a day of cake painting, creating this ‘Delightful Dahlia’ design on a tall and elegant sugarpaste covered cake tier.
You will learn how to:
Create a hand brushed ombre on your cakes
Cut and apply and applique panel
Transfer designs using templates
Mix cocoa butter paint to the right consistency for painting
Layer your paint to build up highlight and shading to make your design come to life
Paint two different varieties of Dahlia bloom
You do not have to be a proficient artist to take this class – Emily will take you through everything in easy to follow steps with many giggles along the way!

MR BAKERS CAKE SCHOOL - FAREHAM UK - JANUARY 18th 2026
In this standalone cake decorating class, we will be creating a stunning Cocoa Butter Painting design with a stunning Lemons & Daisies design.
Emily’s Cocoa Butter Painted Cake is the perfect introduction to all sorts of new cake decorating skills, ideal for cake decorators who are ready to move on to some fresh challenges. Many of the skills are infinitely adaptable too, meaning you’ll be able to draw on them for all sorts of cake designs in the future and you do not need to be a proficient artist to take this class as guides and templates will be provided!
This face-to-face class is on Sunday 19th January, from 10:00am – 5pm. Please note classes may sometimes run over, so do consider this when making travel arrangements.
PLEASE NOTE: You will be decorating a cake board covered in icing and not a real cake.

one to one classes
Emily holds one to one classes in her studio in Truro, Cornwall - Prices start at £320 for a full day
One to one classes are the perfect way to learn specific skills up close and personal and ask lots of questions!
During a day class you will get to grips with working with cocoa butter paint and learn how to paint a range of different flowers forms step by step on an iced 2 tier dummy cake. All equipment and materials, including the pre-iced dummy for you to take home will be supplied, as well as a light lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Class topics and designs can be tailored to your needs where possible if you have a specific idea of what you would like to learn.
