Cake International - GOLD and Best in class!!

PINCH ME NOW!!!

It's been hard to find the words to express what an incredible experience it has been working with Jenny Chambers SquareHen and Mr Baker's Cake School to create our collaboration life sized exhibit for the Cake International competition.

Every single element has been created using edible mediums from the hand crafted marquetry table, the tufted rug, the ashtray, books, paint tubes and brushes through to the fully life sized figures of the boy, cat and tiny mouse! Everything you see is sugar - even the canvas, painted with edible paints!

As a collection of art loving creatives we took inspiration from the work of the Bloomsbury artists and their home and working studio at Charleston Farmhouse - our vision was to create a snapshot in time of creative life and I think we managed to do just that!

I am completely overjoyed (and overwhelmed) that we were award Gold and best in class for our peice! Receiving and incredible 99 points out of 100! Seing that little peice of paper is a moment I will never forget!

As many of you know, I am a wedding cake artist so creating lifelike 3D sugar models really pushed me out of my comfort zone... but in all honesty I LOVED every second! I will share a few more pics of my contributions to the peice soon!

Huge thanks to David Close Melanie Underwood and all of the wonderful Cake International judges for thier comments and support.

And most of all huge thanks and love to Jen and Rob... the most wonderful friends and teammates a girl could wish for!
